Reachout!

o9-o1-o9

o9-o1-o9

Nene.. ..can't you hear it?
Its deafening..
why can't you hear it..

The beat of the drum.
boom,boom,boom!
The hum, the thud...
blog!

can't you hear it?

The sound of the gong.
tong, tong, tong!
The ring of the bell, of the telephone.
ting, ting!..cring, cring!
why can't you hear it?

Your not deaf, are you?
You can hear it.. you can..
What did you heard last?
Is it the cry and moans of the other children?
Or the wail of the helpless parents?
Or the loud clang of the bell?
Or the loud bang of the guns, of the bombs, of violence?
pls. don't mind those..
Fear not, Nene..
Fear not..

Wake up..Nene.. wake up..
hear me please. I beg you..
wake up now..
I heard your shout just a while ago.
you're calling my name, don't you?
Now wake up, look at me.. I am here now.
Hear me 'cause I heard you..
Hold my hand..
lean on me.. Hear my heart..It's pounding, beating for you...

Oh!..shut up!

why would i wake you.. when yours no longer beat like mine.

Development Communication in now on its 10th year.

Development Communication waving its 10th anniversary theme, " Development Communication: daring, dashing and determined," is now revealing its little and big victories during the past ten years.

Active students and alumni of the institution will gather to celebrate another year of prosperity and camaraderie. It shall also showcase the students potential, talents and skills in their own respective fields, the develpment journalism, the community broadcasting, and the educational communication. Above all, they shall be asisted by the ever responsible and supportive faculty teachers of the said institution. Together, they will rock the school even during midterm examinations.

Development Communication and Development Communication Society have continually evolved to be a more prosperous program in Benguet State University upholding higher standards and taeacher-student relationship. It had surpassed enormous obstacles and had overcome great challenges.

Amidst the dark starting years of being unnoticed and unknown, it is now stepping in its lime light and revealing its identity to the public. The countless struggles of the program to be well known in the school campus and as well in the community had finally bear its sweet fruit. Today, they are now on the toughest competition in the university raising its banner high and as well as promoting development among individuals. They too serves as a catalyst of change.

No matter what other people say, it stood firm and had continued the battle.

As a student of this developing institution, I have come to love it. Here, I learned a lot of things, on academic, on attitude and behavior development, and much more on communicating with others and reaching out to the grassroots or the common people. In here, I gained a lot of great friends. It continued to inspire me to write. Never did I imagined before that I would have this kind of career. Nevertheless, everything that I had witnessed and learned here had pushed me to love this kind of thing.

Everything that I have successfully accomplished is because of my passion brought out by Development Communication and every people involved in here. Above all, I believe that this is God's will for me.

I hope that this program shall continue to live up on its name.

DevCom rocks!

Passion and dedication is what a student needs from a teacher.

A student who sees his teacher as a passionate and dedicated person will in return become a passionate and dedicated student. Teaching as they say is the most noblest profession beacause its the mother of all professon. Teachers should be a model to everyone especially to their students.

As a student, I work better when I see that the person who taught me to do it has the passion and dedication on his job. It's as if driving me to become like him. They work hard not just because it is a necessity but because its their calling, their passion. And seeing passionate people like them inspires me in a lot of ways. It's just telling me in an indirect way that I should also pursue my assignments or any requirements not just because you have to but because you want and you love to.

This past few days, I encounter few of those. I love listening to their stories. It's very inspiring. They say that their passion to their recent organization or program always drag them back there to check out what's happening or sometimes, they're reaching out their hand to help it. No matter how busy they are, but the passion that had engulfed their hearts have always find ways to reconnect themselves on a certain thing where their passion lies.

This sem, I've been loaded with many requirements to accomplish as soon as possible. I observed that there are lot of opportunities coming and there a are alot of requirements to finish before the midterm exam will arrive. The pressure is building in me. In fact, Im having the hard time to decide which one should I finish first. I don't want to drop any of those loads I'm holding. I want to carry it out and accompsh it. Those are important missions to accomplish. No matter how pressured I am, I still strive to reach my goal. Seeing people who once encounter such things and have successfully accomplished their mission have continously empowered me to do so. And I'm very glad to have meet and known them.

May there be more people passionate and dedicated as them.

I give my highest salute to all of you.

Thank you for the empowerment and encouragement.

JUST ANOTHER RAINY DAY...

Trekking the road of Barangay Poblacion, La Trinidad Benguet under the pouring rain is a very tiring task. Though it was holiday and it was raining, we still pursue our ocular survey. We have to accomplish something this week so we won’t be hard up in doing other school stuff.

I left home early without an umbrella. The rain had stopped that time anyway but before arriving at my destination, it started to rain again and I had to run as fast as I could so I won’t get wet. Luckily, it didn’t pour hard. I had to photocopy our questionnaire, so I had to be early. I waited quite long before the photocopy was done. I was desperately praying for the rain to stop but unfortunately it didn’t. I had to wait at one of the computer shop there where we dev.com students usually stay. I felt relieved to have seen some of my companions. We then proceed to Poblacion to conduct our survey.

The place was subdivided into three zones. Our group took the 2nd zone. We were three in the group, all of them were my friends and it felt good to be with them. Only one of us has an umbrella and the two of us who don’t have an umbrella had to rely on our hoods. It was fun actually. Even if it was raining, we marched house to house to conduct our survey. But of course we had to stop when the rain would pour harder.

We were able to finish the survey just before lunch. We had lunch on one of the store there. We ate instant noodles while watching the TV featuring the death of former president Cory Aquino. At the same time, we gossiped. When all groups have gathered, we then planned our next task which is the readership survey on all barangays of La Trinidad. We were grouped again and we were able to accomplish the task quick.

After which, we parted ways.

It was really a very tiring day. My energy is drained, my head is throbbing that I forgot to go to one of my friends house for a food trip. Nevertheless, I enjoyed that holiday. It was worth all the sacrifice. And I must thank God for keeping us safe all throughout the day.

It was a lovely rainy day and tomorrow will just be another rainy day..
